Ilana Katz-Sand, MD

Dr. Ilana Katz Sand joined the Neurology faculty at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in July, 2013 following a two-year fellowship in Multiple Sclerosis funded by a Sylvia Lawry Fellowship Training Grant from the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Dr. Katz Sand is board certified in Neurology.
Dr. Katz Sand completed her internship in Internal Medicine at Columbia University Medical Center in 2008, and completed her residency in Neurology at the Columbia University Medical Center in 2011. She was elected Chief Resident from 2010-2011 and was recognized by the Arnold P. Gold Humanism Foundation Circle of Excellence in Teaching.
Dr. Katz Sand received her BS degree in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania (summa cum laude) in 2003 where she was also a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society. She obtained her MD degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in 2007 where she was a member of the AOA Honor Society and the Arnold P. Gold Humanism in Medicine Honor Society. She received the Helen Sciarra Prize in Neurology and the Glasgow-Rubin Achievement Award for Women Graduating in the Top 10% of Class.
Dr. Katz Sand is committed to providing excellent clinical care to patients with multiple sclerosis (MS) and other neuroimmunological disorders, and aims to advance the field by contributing to clinical and translational research related to MS and other neuroimmunological disorders.
